Overthink It!

Have you ever really thought about some things? Depending upon what it is, it can be a complete waste of time or it can make you wise up a bit. Just like most everything there is a positive and a negative. I guess I’m overthinking things now as we go with overthinking. But this saying brought it to mind as I thought about it a bit after one said it to me.

“Live each day like it is your last” or some stupid variation like that which people say.

On the outside that may seem like wise advice. Even when you ignore the fact that some people would use that as an excuse to spend like an idiot and such, it still may seem wise. Now overthink it for a minute. Does it still seem wise?

Nope. Because your last day is going to be miserable. Unless you get struck by lightning, hit by a bus, or something fast like that, which are all miserable ways to go, you will most likely be in pain, or supped up on pain killers, in some hospital bed for your last day. Now isn’t that a day that you want to live each day like? Pffffft!

Even if you croak in your sleep you, most likely, will have health issues and be on your last legs. (Do we get new legs? How can last be a thing if we don’t get more than one pair?) Doesn’t that make for a great last day to live like once more? Pfffft!

See? A much wiser form of overthinking. Now if you went on about why an apple is round, that may not be such a wise form.

Apply overthinking to anything worthwhile and it may wise you up. Could make stories better as you catch errors and such or could do things like make one realize the media is full of crap. Maybe it is more thinking things through but that is a form of overthinking. But thinking of any kind is usually good, too few do that is seems. So there was my rant for today. Overthink anything at your bay?

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

That definitely was overthinking! I think living each day as if it is your last is meant to encourage us/you to do what’s important instead of something that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. Why waste time watching reality TV or presidential debates (ha ha) when you could be spending that time with someone you might not know you’re never going to see again? I think that’s what it means. If you try to make every minute count, at the end, when you’re in that hospital bed, moaning and groaning about pain or whatever, wouldn’t it be better to be able to know you did everything on your bucket list? That you did something that means something instead of spending every waking minute glued to a TV or playing video games or even watching professional sports? It’s important to have fun and do things you enjoy, but it’s also important to reach for the stars and accomplish dreams.

haha that makes it sound much better than my overthinking it. Ugg to wasting time watching reality tv or stupid debates, never ever do that crap.

If we lived each day as our last, none of us would go to work. Then it would be a real mess, wouldn’t it?
